Poly-Wood

Waterproof

The look of wooden blinds at a much lower cost. Solid extruded PVC slats are waterproof and fade-proof, so they are safe in bathrooms and kitchens. They are heavier than real wood, so they suit windows where the blind isn't raised and lowered all the time.

Wood & Polymer Venetian FAQs

Should I choose real wood or polymer venetian blinds?

Real wood gives the most natural warmth and is lighter to raise and lower. Polymer ranges such as Antique Wood, Eco-Wood and Eco-Supreme give a similar look but are tougher, and Poly-Wood is fully waterproof. For bathrooms, kitchens and very sunny windows, polymer is usually the better choice.

Which venetian blinds are best for bathrooms and kitchens?

Poly-Wood is made from solid extruded PVC, so it is waterproof and fade-proof and safe in damp rooms. The other polymer ranges also handle moisture far better than natural wood.

What are ladder tapes?

Ladder tapes are wide fabric tapes that run down the front of the blind in place of thin ladder strings. They cover the cord holes for extra privacy and give the blind a more luxurious, finished look.

What is the difference between recess and face fixed mounting?

A recess-mounted blind fits inside the window opening for a neat, built-in look. A face-fixed blind mounts on the wall or frame outside the opening, covering it completely and blocking more light around the edges.

How big can a wooden venetian blind be?

Natural Wooden blinds can be made from 350mm up to 2420mm wide, and all polymer ranges up to 2700mm wide. Every range goes up to a 3000mm drop. Wider windows can be split into two or more blinds.

Can wooden venetian blinds be motorised?

Yes. Motorisation is available as an option on every wood and polymer range, so you can raise, lower and tilt your blinds without touching a cord.
